Tenganan Pegringsingan is one of the oldest Balinese traditional village or also called Bali Aga or the original Balinese, located in Karangasem regency, eastern part of Bali. This village is much referred by cultural literature science of Tenganan Pegringsingan, it own very unique local community life pattern which is one culture example of Bali Ancient Village and different with other village existing in Bali. The village layout are built on either side of the north to the south concourse with their doors opening on to it.
The entrances of the houses are narrow, only allowing one person to enter or leave at any one time. On enters the village through the gate on the southern end. On either side of the entrance are two small temples, across from these is the long Bale Agung, where are the administrative decisions for the village are made. Up to the center are a series of Bale Banjar for formal and informal meetings, ceremonial gatherings and at the northern end is the Village Temple, the temple of origin.
